It’s episode two of the Pdexposures podcast! Being as we had no complaints about our first one, we figured we’d have another rambling discussion about photography. This time our subject is street photography, and we welcome our new co-host, Simon Ponder (who is on probation until he does something we don’t agree with, and at that point he will be removed and wordlessly replaced as if nothing happened).
Bear with the audio on Nate’s end in the beginning, it gets better a few minutes in! We’re working on better quality for the future!
We reference some photographs during the podcast. Here are some links so you can see what we’re talking about:
The intro and outro music was a song called “We Must Taste the Inexhaustable” by Crocus. Thanks, guys!

Another great episode. In case you guys don’t know, Magnum has a book of contact sheets from many of their most famous photographers. It is fun to look through. You get to see how the “moment” evolved. There are also less expensive books like “The Contact Sheet” by Steve Christ (only 17$’s on Amazon). I own the latter and it is a good read and I leaf though it over-and-over again. Nice Podcast. Keep it up. –Greg
Hi, i totally agree about the Magnum Contact Sheets book. It is a must for street photographers. Also very interesting for non street-togs. You get to see the stories behind some of Magnums most famous images. It taught me a lot about working a location to get that perfect shot. The HCB shot of the boys playing in the rubble through a hole in the wall is a good example of this, he shot a whole roll there!
Since reading that book I put contact sheets and the best 4 or 5 shots from the roll on my blog.
I’m a 50mm man by the way, unless i’m in a smaller space like a market or tube train, then i use a 35
